Originally, it was a French company formed by Virgin Records (as Virgin France S.A.) in 1995 and run by Alain Artaud usually to distribute and promote independent music and labels and to promote indie artists. Over the years, Labels company spread its distribution to over the Europe especially in Benelux to promote more of many European artists aboard then it distributes UK and European independent record label. Then amid great recession affecting Europe caused crisis of record industry there, it was closed down in June 2008. All (1995-2008) music from artists released by Labels in France were acquired by Warner Music Group amid purchase of EMI Records in 2013.

In around 2025, Emcee-B decided to freely relaunch Labels as an independent record label operated in USA titled L2 Music, it only releases his own singles, mixtapes, and albums under his own record label company. Originally Labels is open to any genres back then, now specializing EDM music genre. It will also distribute Emcee-B's virtual DJ project for Swagman.Projekt digitally.
